Presenting Her Supreme Majestrix, The Cat

My place is one of six apartments in an old house, divided over three floors. One of the neighbours has two cats, who get out in the evenings for a little while and like to come up and say hello. This one's named Zoe, a very friendly kitty with quite a purr.

I was reading Michael Palin's book New Europe when she came by one evening. Cats being the supreme life form on the planet, it was natural that Zoe was expecting attention. She also has a habit of lying on top of whatever one might be reading.

  5. Como é bonita a Zoe. E tanto pediu atenção que fez você interromper a leira para fotografá-la. Lindas fotos
    Um bom dia William
    Um abraço

  7. So nice that you can borrow a cat. You have the best of both worlds. The friendship and purr factor, without the litter pan!

  9. Zoe reminds me of my neighbour's cat who also believes she's a supreme life form. :) I'm a big fan of cats!

  10. Nice to have a reading buddy every now and then ! Cute photos ! The main reason we called out cat Harley was cause she purrs as loud as one and has quite the deep rumble to it to lol ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !

  11. I wondered why it was taking you so long to feature Zoe--she's adorable!

  12. Zoe is a smart cat. To get your attention off the book, she lies on top of your book so you can't help but notice her and pat her.

  13. Zoe obviously feels right at home in your apartment William :) mind you they make themselves home wherever they are :)

  14. Zoe looks like a special cat, indeed. I can almost here her purring.

  15. Cats are gods and goddesses and they will lie where they wish when they want. My cat, Cleopatra, lies on my desk, on my work, on my keyboard, and right now is on my printer. She gets quite upset if I try to move her. But it's kinda nice they want to be close to you too! Zoe is a doll...er, a cute cat!

  16. Cats have a way to worm their way into things. They end up controlling the agenda. This is a different topic for you!

  17. @Linda: she's a sweetie.

    @Cloudia: indeed!

    @Halcyon: and by now, that means now!!!!

    @Stuart: very nice indeed!

    @Gracita: thank you!

    @Tamera: they certainly are.

    @Marianne: so do I.

    @Tex: and she knows it!

    @Revrunner: and lavish all attention on the kitty.

    @Janis: indeed... the kitty litter's the one drawback of having a cat!

  18. @Merisi: thanks!

    @Dina: the two cats are pretty much house bound in the winter, and they never seem to wander off the property either during the summer. The other one I haven't photographed as of yet. He's a cutie too. Though he has a girl's name. Flo!

    @EG: of course they are supreme life forms!

    @Country Gal: a good reason to name her that.

    @Norma: and here she is!

    @Nancy: she doesn't stay too long, generally, maybe fifteen minutes before moving on upstairs.

    @Grace: that they do!

    @Linda: she is special.

    @Lowell: that's a very cat thing to do.

    @Red: I figured sooner or later I'd have to post this one... just wanted to get some other stuff out of the way. It's been awhile since I took the photos of her.

  24. I see some Siamese in Zoe. Around here it's almost impossible to read without a body draped across the book.

  25. Zoe is a beautiful cat. It's been about 4 years since my last cat died and I haven't been able to bring myself to get another one.

  28. Great! Our cats always used to find a comfortable place at the newspapers. :-)

  29. @Mo: she does!

    @Jose: that she is.

    @Karl: she really is.

    @VP: and she knows it!

    @Ciel: she seems to have a sweet personality.

    @Kay: yes, she blends in well.

    @Marleen: it is!

    @Sharon: she has a gentle nature, even if she does like lying on top of things y ou're reading!

    @Tanya: it's a ramshackle sort of place, but I like it.

    @Geoff: or perhaps she is and wanted to read herself!

    @Deb: she does the same thing with newspaper and somehow stretches herself out across a whole page.

    @Lois: I'd always had cats around when I was growing up. I love them to pieces.

    @Parsnip: ah, but naughty is fun!

    @Car2: thank you!

    @Jan: that's what Zoe loves doing.

    @Hilary: that she is.

    1. She was such a cutie. I lost track of the person who lived in that apartment, and I haven't been back to the area since- let's just say the guy who bought up the building made life quite difficult, and in an ideal world, he'd be drawn and quartered. Slowly.

  31. Lovely cat, but I still cannot understand someone preferring a cat over a dog.

  32. That's so sweet that you can visit, without all the responsibility! Annie goes in for her annual today. Hubby overfeeds her and he will be scolded. Hah!
