Transport

With fall now underway, it was time for a new header photo for the season. This one was taken last fall at the Champlain Lookout in the Gatineau Hills.

We begin today with headphones.


And a more recent artifact- the iPod music player.


Robert Moog was an engineer with the National Research Council here in Ottawa. He refined the electronic synthesizer into what it is known as today.


We move into steam power, represented by the locomotives.

    Headphones have gone through amazing technical development, and who doesn't love the streamlined NRC design of the steam locomotive introduced in 1936 which followed Raymond Loewy's design.
