Gatineau Park is a federal park on the Gatineau side of the Ottawa River, run by the government agency the National Capital Commission. Unique that it is not strictly a national park, it is nonetheless set aside as a place of nature. It occupies most of the Gatineau Hills, a rise of land that is part of the vast Canadian Shield. Most of that park is contained as well within the regional municipality Les Collines-des-l'Outaouais. The NCC operates a shuttle bus system on the weekends, and fall weekends are a particularly good time to get up there. Where the city of Gatineau gives way to one of the entrances to the park, we see this marsh.
I took shots along the way as the bus meandered through the hills, climbing.
Hints of blue can be seen among the trees here- that's Pink Lake, where we will stop before this series ends. I had two other destinations to go to first.
