My high school was near a cemetery where my ancestors were buried. During lunch time, a group of us went to the cemetery sometimes to look around. We weren’t the only kids who did that too. Strange but true.
I like walking in old cemeteries. In Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord, MA, where love ones are buried, there is a gravestone, an actual stone that was fading when I was a child in the 1950s. I use to say hello when we drove by to let who is there know they are not forgotten even if the name is worn away.
...cemeteries are such peaceful places and during winter they can be more so. The angel with the snow is a wonderful sight.
ReplyDeleteThere are always a few gravestones that stand out amongst the others, I agree with Tom, looks so peaceful in the snow 💙
ReplyDeleteFotografias muito interessantes.

That's a very fine angel. I'm always attracted to such gravestones which were quite the thing to have back in Victorian times.
ReplyDeleteHello, the statues and gravestones are lovely. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy week ahead!
ReplyDeleteNice shots again, the photo is beautiful. The snow gives the statue something extra.

ReplyDeleteI lived down the street from a cemetery in Boulder, and I would sometimes take a short run around the perimeter. Your place is quite peaceful.

It doesn't look like you had much living company. Cemeteries are a good place for a sort of walking meditation.
ReplyDeleteI've always appreciated such places. We have interesting ones in Hawaii too
ReplyDeleteVery peaceful and lovely.
ReplyDeleteSo many angels. So much care and devotion here.
ReplyDeleteI love beautiful statuary in a cemetery. You don't see it often here.

@Kay: I saw a handful of people around during my walk.
@Cloudia: they'd be a bit different, I expect.
@Lady Fi: definitely.
@Sandi: that's true.
