A Pleasure To Explore

 Continuing on today, more of these standalone tulip beds.

I moved back to the main pathway.

Bright And Beautiful

Tulips, especially when you have this many close at hand, are a delightful sight.

I moved over to the standalone beds west of the path in this part of the park. They were at their height.

A woman was walking her dog, which makes me wonder what dogs think of it all. Also note the lone yellow tulip in a sea of orange. What I call a rogue tulip.

Vibrant Flowerbeds

A reminder to members of City Daily Photo: the theme for the first of June is Smile.

Picking up where I left off yesterday here in Commissioners Park, more tulip colours.

The next bed on is less densely planted, this year with a mix of muscari and orange tulips.

Beyond that, lovely white.

I could see people with a dog in the shade of a tree beyond.

The path carried me along.

Tulip Paparazzi

 I start today where I left off yesterday, standing in the ribbon of grass between two beds of tulips at the south end of Commissioners Park.

Fellow members of the Tulip Paparazzi were busy taking pictures. I vastly prefer coming down this way during the week. Weekends during the Festival, the crowds are just too much. I remember being here on a weekend last year and having the distinct unpleasant feeling of "I can't breathe". 

In case you're wondering, that red sculpture in the background sticking up above the bushes is one of the tulip sculptures, sitting in the backyard of one of the homes. We'll pick up here tomorrow.

Bright Colours

I returned to Dow's Lake a few days after my first visit. Today I begin outside of Commissioners Park. This flowerbed lies just east of the Bronson Avenue Bridge, visible in the background, where the Rideau Canal opens up into Dow's Lake.

Passing the bridge, I entered the park, where the tulips had come along since I had last shown you them.
