National Gallery Of Canada

 It is time for a return visit to the National Gallery of Canada, one of the national museums in the area. This place has its roots dating back to the 19th century, and its current quarters are in Lowertown in a structure that is a work of art in and of itself.

Out front, Maman, the spider sculpture by Louise Bourgeois, which visitors have come to love. Well, except for the arachnophobes.

Notre Dame is across the street.

Inside, a long ramp heads up to the main collections. Overhead was hanging a work of art, Earth And Sky, a collaboration by Shuvinai Ashoona and John Noestheden.

Here in the glass tower, a look across to Parliament Hill.

And then inside the gallery spaces. The main floor has Canadian art, and this is the first thing you see as you enter. The Canadian galleries were reorganized in 2017 to mix together indigenous art with European influenced styles.
