Seven

We begin today with Afternoon Sun, North Shore, Lake Superior, a 1924 painting by Lawren Harris of The Group of Seven. Harris would return to this mighty lake time and time again in his work.


This particular space has a large indigenous canoe at its heart. Numerous paintings are gathered on the far wall, while on this side, it's all Group of Seven.


Such as this- March Storm, Georgian Bay is a 1920 oil painting by A.Y. Jackson.


F.H. Varley was another member of the Group, and this is his 1921 painting Stormy Weather, Georgian Bay.


Here we have The Solemn Land, a 1921 work by J.E.H. MacDonald.


And I finish with the work of Arthur Lismer, another member of the Group. A September Gale, Georgian Bay dates to 1921.
