Blend Of Flowers

 I begin today where I left off yesterday, with the mix of tulip colours along that low stone wall.

The path beyond led to these.

And beyond that, more beds with mixes of colours.

Mix Of Colours

Carrying on, the tulips were bright in the mid-day sunshine as I continued through Commissioners Park. 

A low stone wall can be found where the street beyond curves around. In the bed directly below it was a mix of tulip colours, some in full bloom, others getting there. We'll pick up here again tomorrow.

The Paparazzi

These standalone beds west of the main path are the earliest to bloom, and of course they were attracting a lot of attention from the Tulip Paparazzi.

Back to the main beds, which line up along the east side of the park.

Tulip Colour

 Picking up where I left off yesterday, east of the Bronson Avenue Bridge, where the Rideau Canal widens into Dow's Lake, there is a large standalone flowerbed here, filled with tulips.

Back across the pathway and continuing on my way, these flowering trees caught my eye, as well as other people.

And then it was into Commissioners Park. It was a Saturday- and very crowded. I was reminded why I prefer to photograph here mid-week. After two years of really just the locals seeing the tulips, the tourists were back, and during the weekends, it's very busy here.

The visitors included a number of nuns.

Tulip Views

Today is Victoria Day here in Canada. Take a peek over at my writer's blog today for a post about it.

Heading home one evening, I went into Central Park in the Glebe. There's a small planting of tulips at a tree here.

As well as some along the slope- though I sometimes wonder if their placement here is the work of squirrel gardeners.

A few minutes later this set of tulips in a residential garden caught my eye.

A couple of days later I was heading to Dow's Lake via a different route, taking the Canal pathway from Bank Street and heading west. At this location where I started is a pond that's linked to the Canal, and at one end is a bed of tulips.

My path led me onward, past several gardens where the homeowners include tulips among their plantings.
