Aviaries

I left off yesterday with a diorama inside the bird gallery at the Museum of Nature. Here is another one, featuring sage grouse of the Canadian Prairies.


And here we have another, the gray crowned ruby finch.


Returning to the display cases, birds are generally organized in a given theme by each case.

  5. I've never seen the sage grouse. They are scarce and in the far southern part of the province.

  6. Good to learn what birds look like. Today is the anniversary of Peterson's Field Guide to the Birds being published. I learned a lot from that book.
