Tulips In The Neighbourhood Gardens

More tulips today in the Glebe, starting with this garden. The ceramic rabbit was a nice touch.

On another day, just finishing up at Commissioners Park, I headed past the Bronson Avenue Bridge, where these spring blossoms caught my attention. Off in the distance, another tulip bed can be seen.

I took shots of tulips nearby.

And then I headed down to that tulip bed. Over to the right is the Rideau Canal, just before it goes beneath the Bronson bridge and widens into Dow's Lake.

Taken on another day, these two shots are close to home.

While these are a short walk on, in the north end of the Glebe. I'll return to this series after the theme day, though tulip shots will also factor in tomorrow.

Tulip Beds In The Glebe

The Glebe is a neighbourhood in Ottawa, quite familiar to me. This first bed of tulips is outside St. Giles Presbyterian Church in the neighbourhood.

Down the street, at Abbotsford House, these were showing.

Tulips can also be found at Lansdowne Park, alongside the Aberdeen Pavilion.

On my way home, I took these shots around residential gardens in the neighbourhood.

Flowing Flowerbeds

On the same day that I paid a visit to the Chaudiere Falls earlier this month, I took these shots. Last year I'd noted a bed of tulips outside the War Museum, but too late to take shots. This year I returned, crossing from the falls along the path to this spot on the Ottawa side of the Ottawa River. The tulips were in lovely shape.

Out on the other side of the War Museum, tulips were found in a series of planters.

My walk took me further along, where I came to this bed, which had a flowing effect.

A short walk onward, I stopped outside the headquarters of Library and Archives Canada.

Beds of tulips are off to either side of the entrance. I framed the one in the background with this bench sculpture.

And a short walk beyond, on the property between Library and Archives and its neighbour, the Supreme Court, I took these shots. The Court is seen in the background of the first two.

Luscious Pinks

Continuing on where I left off, with more of the tulips at Dow's Lake.

This particular bed uses muscari as a companion plant each year, and the combination is a welcome one.

I like to get down to tulip level at this spot.

This bed had a plaque unveiled by Dutch Queen Juliana during a state visit. The bed was later dedicated in her honour after her death.

Two final shots. We'll come back to Commissioners Park again in a few days.
