Torso From The Rock Drill is a sculpture by Jacob Epstein, cast in 1916. This is the only element of the concept that was cast, as the artist abandoned the larger work.
Dazzleships In Dry Dock At Liverpool is a 1919 painting by Edward Wadsworth. This was a standard practice during World War One as a means to break up the profile of a ship.
Hanging in the heart of this space is Jacaranda, a mobile sculpture by Alexander Calder, from 1949.
Picasso painted The Small Table in 1919.
Gwen John painted Young Woman In A Grey Cloak around 1920-24.
Gerald Kelly painted After Tea Time: View Of Mentone From Cap Martin in 1908.
Paul Nash served in the First World War as a British officer, and then as a commissioned war artist. A Night Bombardment dates to 1919-20.
Richard Eurich went to war as a war artist in World War Two. This is his work Dunkirk Beaches, May 1940, painted later that year and into the next.
