A Tulip Bed For The Winter Olympics

As one steps across the property line at Lansdowne Park at the east side and onto parkland owned by the National Capital Commission, one finds this particular bed of tulips, near the Rideau Canal in the background. This flower bed with its statue pair was dedicated for the Calgary Winter Olympics in 1988. Surrounded by tulips is when it looks its best.

  1. It is lovely to imagine the tulips in full bloom around the Olympic tribute, with the Rideau Canal quietly flowing nearby, adding a sense of peace and celebration to the scene.
