Up In The Air

Today I'm closing out the bird gallery at the Museum of Nature from my February visit.

The provinces and territories of Canada each have an official bird, displayed together in several cases.

And here is the last set. Tomorrow we carry on with the visit.

  1. I like the way they have been grouped and displayed.

  2. You can tell a lot more from an exhibit than from a book.

  9. Lots of interesting opportunities to study them. Usually, if we have a bird fly into the window I try to take photos. I was taking them to my First Nations friend, whe's of the bird clan, and she'd do a smudging over them. Hubby got tired of me storing them in the freezer, though!

  16. @Fun60: as do I.

    @Linda: true.

    @Francisco: thanks!

    @Tom: that's true.

    @Susie: thanks.

    @Eileen: thanks!

    @David: more to see.

    @Parsnip: I imagine they're natural deaths, or bird strikes into windows. It's frowned upon these days to shoot birds for collecting. I'm reading a book at the moment in which the opposite was the case.

    @Barbara: thank you!

    @Jennifer: I can see that.
