Still here at Dow's Lake, I find that the late afternoon sun brings out the best of tulips. These tulips will be dug up soon, and flowers that last through the summer planted in their place. Sometime in October the job of planting bulbs again will happen. And compare the first photo to my header- the picnic table at the right shows it's the same spot. Quite a difference from last year to this one.
I think tulips never last long enough. I would love to enjoy their beauty longer. Someone should tell them :)
ReplyDeleteFind that quite amazing seeing all those tulips and the various colors. Not sure I'd want to be the one digging them up for bedding plants though
ReplyDeleteTulips are so beautiful but its a lot of work having to dig them up and replant them again.
ReplyDeleteReally delightful and colourful.
ReplyDeleteso beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blaze of colours, William !
ReplyDeleteThe last three photos are my favourites.
@Debs: someone should!
ReplyDelete@Bill: it would be a lot.of work.

Much more colourful in last year's header spot taken in the same spot William. Soooo many gorgeous blooms. I think the deep orange just might be my favourite!
ReplyDeleteTruly a beautiful and colourful celebration! People must have tulip withdrawal when the season ends and the colour disappears.
ReplyDeleteWhat a work to plant all those tulips each year and dig them up again later. But it's worth all the work, specially the last three photos are wonderful again.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to imagine that someone would actually dig up these beautiful creations. But I guess the replacements will also be pretty.
ReplyDeletelove the golden yellow ones, so fun! happy weekend
ReplyDeletesuch a wow factor! but i'd dread that gardening task.
ReplyDeleteThe tulips really are spectacular.
ReplyDeletemy goodness, they are beautiful william!
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing that they take up all the tulips and plant something else to keep blooms all summer. My favorites are the yellows.
ReplyDelete@Grace: I think the tulip arrangements in each area do change yearly.
ReplyDelete@Bill: yes, we get to miss it!
@Jan: thank you!
@Lowell: they are.

@Tex: it could be tiresome!
@Sharon: they certainly are.
@Tanya: I do agree!
@Red: it's quite a job for them to do.
Oh man that northern sun finally on those flowers is so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI especially love your sixth and seventh photos!
ReplyDeleteIt must take a lot of work. But so worthwhile!
ReplyDeleteTulips run amok! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting that they change the colors around - makes sense!

So beautiful! I just love tulips. :)
ReplyDeleteSo do I.
DeleteYour header is a stunning shot. I remember your last year photos when the tulips were blooming. Fabulous too!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI can't get over the masses of tulips! They're so lovely! About the man reading on the bus on my blog, I used to get sick riding in the back seat, no matter what. I couldn't read in the front seat, either. Now I wear motion sickness acupressure bracelets and have no trouble at all, no matter which vehicle I'm in. They're wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThe mix of colour in the first and last several photos is stunning.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
