Some Odds And Ends

I have some odds and ends from the last couple of months today. In the first half of March, I was passing by the future main branch of the Ottawa Public Library, which will share space with some facilities from Library and Archives Canada. I have been occasionally documenting its progress here in the blog. At this point, the bulk of the work left to be done is on the inside.

When I went out for my visit to the National Gallery, I headed via Major's Hill Park. En route, I took this shot, with the Ottawa River and Gatineau on the far shore. A low lying cloud deck obscured the distant Gatineau Hills.

By the time I came back, the Hills were visible.

I passed by the National War Memorial and took this shot.

One evening in mid-March I photographed the sunset from my place.

Another day, with blue skies and wispy clouds, I took these shots.

On an early morning walk, I took this rare selfie. Very Prince of Darkness.

A new monument that we'll get a look at in a couple of days. I took this shot in late March while passing by.

A hint of things to come- tulips just starting to come up at Major's Hill Park in the latter half of April.

And a few days later, passing through the Garden of the Provinces and Territories, I photographed a couple of Canada goose at rest.

A short walk beyond, at Victoria Island, I was closer to one. He looked at me and decided that since I was on the other side of a high fence, I was no bother to him.

  1. Feeling cold now watching those Winter photos. And it is cold over here with icy winds over the last week. But there are tulips everywhere.
