City Daily Photo Theme Day: Breakfast

The first day of the month is always a theme day for members of City Daily Photo, and for November, that theme is Breakfast. Check out how others are interpreting the theme right here

One summer morning, I happened upon a rabbit having breakfast in the Glebe, and took some shots.

Now for human breakfasts. Sunset Grill has a location at Lansdowne, and periodically I will pick up some takeaway breakfast there on the way to work.

Scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage, bacon, and toast. All the things to start the day off right. I don't actually cook at home (heating things up in the microwave doesn't count), and doubt I'll ever own a toaster, but I've never had toast from this place that was overdone.

Further up in the Glebe is Eddy's, which does an all-day breakfast. I've stopped in here the odd time. When I passed by one morning, I made a point of photographing their full breakfast menu.

On an early October day, I stopped in an office building downtown en route to elsewhere. They have one of those large eateries that have buffet style food that you can take with you. I hadn't been in before, though I've passed by on many occasions. I went in on a whim, and got some takeaway- French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, and a hash brown. Scrambled eggs is how I like them done, and the French toast reminded me of how my mother used to make it.

Around the middle of October I stopped in for breakfast at the Elgin Street Diner, a downtown institution that never closes.

I ordered a western omelette, which came with toast and home fries. A very filling breakfast, washed down with some milk.
