Wanderings Of A Canadian Loon Through The National Capital And Beyond
Very nice monument and I love that sky!
Nice photos William.
There are great contrasts of light.Tomás.
Impressive from all angles - i think I like the silhouettes in the second last shot the best
Very dramatic with the silhouettes. You've captured it well!
Shot in silhouette like this makes the scene seem tres realistic William. I really admire this monument!
Superb shots. Makes them look alive
Yes, the silhouettes make the people look real. Great visual appeal!JanisGDP
For a moment I thought the people were real but thet didn't move. Nice photos.

The statues are larger than life though.@Beth: I had never photographed that quote.
The silhoettes are impressive.
I thought they were alive. Lovely skies from shots taken from different angles.
Nice shots of this impressive monument, William. The last one is my favourite this time.
Good job. It does look great against that moody sky.
Very REAL.I like the way you composed this.

Great silhouettes! At first I wondered why soldiers were on top the monument and then I realized it was part of the sculpture.
It looks great against the blue sky.
I like these shots, William!
Oh these are all great!
Great captures. Took me a bit to decide but I like the second shot the best, although something about the last shot really appeals to me as well.
really is neat.
You see those kind of silhouettes around D.C. and you can be pretty sure there the Secret Service. :-)
Very dramatic, they work very well..
@Red: it's a very vivid monument.@Marleen: it certainly does!@RedPat: thank you!@Ciel: thanks!@Anita: that was one of those late afternoons where the light seemed to be changing constantly.@Tex: thank you!@Janey: that appears to be the consensus.@Revrunner: that I can see, yes.@Geoff: that's what I thought.
Loved the lighting. The figures look so real.
I almost thought they were real people at first! Lovely shots.
I might like the third and the last best, William. Those with some light on the base made the figures stand out better to me than those in which everything was in profile.
Well done! Like Jack, I like the third and last ones the most. The lines of the monument base are strong and dramatic and the sculptures are so lifelike.
Nicely done, William.
Striking images, William!
Thise statues could almost be taken for actual soldiers if one didn't know better.
@Mari: that's the idea. They are larger than life.@Lois: it is quite a monument to behold. I photographed it the other night.@Jack: thank you!@Kay: I've always been impressed with this monument.@Lorelei: thank you.@Norma: thanks!@Beatrice: true!
