Gold And Red

This is on a street in Centretown.

A few blocks up is Dundonald Park. I took these two shots of the same street a few hours apart.

This is on the north flank of the park.

And this is another few blocks away.

I passed by this area east of the Rideau Canal one afternoon and the red ivy caught my eye. Arts Court is at left, occupying an old courthouse. The Carleton County Gaol is at centre, a former prison that is a hostel these days. And the white structure at right is the expanded quarters of the Ottawa Art Gallery.

On a different day I passed through Dundonald Park again.

Today I leave off with this Centretown view.

  2. This is a good time to post such photos as good reminders of what just was as the colours fade.

  4. Ivy is a catastrophe it grows everywhere and once in a wall it's hard to get it out. It's sad that the leaves end all up on the ground and the trees will be naked soon. Don't like fall !

  16. Awesome colors . But you better tell someone to clean up the leaves. We don't get tht volume of leaves as our trees aren't that big.

  17. I loved that last photo of the leaves on the ground. I wouldn't want to be the one to rake them, but I do love seeing them!

  25. Lovely changing colors .. such a wonderful time of year. How funny to think of the old jail now being a hostel! I imagine those young travelers would get a kick out of staying there!
