Wanderings Of A Canadian Loon Through The National Capital And Beyond
It really is a beautiful church William.. as for your question in the last post I don't think it will ever be known how many plaques and markers, I should imagine there are so many that aren't on the normal tourist destinations.. I do however feel like I've seen every one in Paris, my traveling companion was a history fanatic AND eagle eye :)
Wonderful glass; really stunning. The church looks relatively unadorned for a Catholic one.
That second photo, especially, is stunning!
A beautiful place. I love to see stained glass windows.
beautiful! I love stained glass!
Very discreete. Exactly the opposite to old churches around here.
Stained glass is always beautiful!
Those stained glass windows are wonderful again.
@Grace: to begin to count them would an impossible task.@Mike: that's quite true. It's a contrast to our Notre Dame.@Linda: thank you!@Jen: thanks!@Halcyon: so do I.@Revrunner: I recall it was Pentecost weekend, so that's probably the reason.@EG: quote so!@Hilary: I do too.@Jose: it's unexpectedly austere for a Catholic church.@Norma: I agree!@Jan: I never get tired of them.
I wonder how much the windows would cost to replace.Jane x
The church has a simple elegance.
Great wall of glass here.
Beautiful, William, I love stained glass windows.
The stained glass window is superb...
simple but striking!
@Jane and Chris: a lot!@Sharon: it does, yes.@Birdman: I think so.@Karl: they're a favourite thing of mine to photograph.@VP: thanks!@Tex: I thought so!
Beautiful. I also like the interior shown on the first photo.
Lovely photos of the inside of this church. Those stained glass windows are gorgeous!
The stained glass is wonderful and I love that red... dunno what you call it! Altar frame? :-)
Such an interesting red draping!
@Marleen: thanks!@Cheryl: I'll have to get in there again sometime.@Denise: I thought so!@Ciel: it would seem to be, though I'm sure it was Pentecost related.@RedPat: it suits the church well.
It is very pretty! We have a church here with the same name, but it is newer than this one I think. It has some marvelous stained glass than was designed by a friend of mine.
I imagine it's a common name for Catholic churches.
I love looking at stained glass. Oh, wait, I've said that before.
ohhh that stained glass!!
It stands out beautifully.
have a great weekend, what a beauty! ( :
