Spring Colours

I have some spring tree and bush blossoms today from various spots in the city. The final shot overlooks Dow's Lake. Tomorrow I have an update on that whole sinkhole thing from last week, and the next day I'm getting started with my Doors Open series.

  1. These colors of the births of flowers are very tender.

  8. @Tomas: they don't last long!

    @Bill: especially lilacs.

    @Marianne: they do, and here it seems so brief, May into early June.

    @Jan: I had some good sky conditions when I was photographing these.

    @Nancy: thank you!

    @Lowell: I hadn't known one of them was a dogwood.

    @Sharon: I love lilacs too.

  9. It's amazing how thick these blossoms are. The only one I can put name to is the lilac.

  10. This looks like a good spring for blossoms. Let's hope it is a good one for fruits and berries, too.

  16. We have loads of dogwoods down here too, but they are declining due to some kind of blight!

  17. Beautiful trees, William!
    I think the Wisteria is at its limit down here - it might survive up in Ottawa but probably wouldn't flower.

  19. Winter does seem like a distant memory with all these colorful blooms now.

  20. But for a couple of exceptions, you could have called this a "white out". :-)

  21. @MB: thank you!

    @Cheryl: if these are dogwoods, that's a surprise to me, but others are thinking so as well.

    @RedPat: ah, that would certainly explain it. I haven't seen it here, but I'm not that good with plant identification.

    @Stuart: thank you!

    @Marleen: thanks!

    @Beatrice: and yet winter will be back before we know it.

    @Revrunner: I could have!
