These were taken on the last day of the festival, Victoria Day, May 23rd. They are from Major's Hill Park, namely the tulips east of Colonel By's statue. The tulips looked particularly beautiful with the tree blossoms and the surrounding architecture.
With the trees blossoming along with the tulips, the area is exploding in colour.ReplyDelete

@Linda: that they are.ReplyDelete
@Bill: this was the best time for these tulips during the festival.
@Karl: they are a great combination.
@Nancy: it is such a good spot.
@Revrunner: yes, that's the colonel.
@Janis: they were glorious.
@Beth: tulips are irresistible.
So many beautiful flowers and so few people viewing them.ReplyDelete
The flowering trees are beautiful too. Thanks for the wonderful Tulip series.ReplyDelete
A sea of red and white!ReplyDelete
It looks fabulous with the tree blossoms!ReplyDelete
@Tex: and a lot of it.ReplyDelete
@Red: admittedly the camera doesn't tell all- I kind of prefer when possible to shoot around crowds, and there were a good number of people there that day. I might go for close ups or wait for enough of a lull to photograph with fewer people in the shot. Sometimes I want people in the shot.
@MB: you're most welcome. Three more posts to go from here... I'll be finished on Monday.
@Sharon: quite so!
@RedPat: it really did. That particular weekend was the best time for this bed of tulips.
I am going to have to get up there during your tulip festival one year! I've never seen so many gorgeous tulips!ReplyDelete
I think this is one of the highlights of the festival.ReplyDelete
You are correct. The tree blossoms and tulips together are spectacular.ReplyDelete
