Glowfair

A reminder to members of City Daily Photo: the theme day for the first of August is My City's Skyline.

In the latter half of June, we had a street festival called Glowfair, in which several blocks of Bank Street  downtown were open only for pedestrians on the weekend. It is a mix of art, music, educational, games, busking, and retail elements. Glowfair has been going on for three or four years now, and this was the first time I photographed any of it.

  7. @Janis: I enjoyed some of it- the music playing during the evening was not to my liking though. Hip hop isn't my preference, and it was way too loud. My hearing is quite sensitive.

    @Jan: it is an interesting concept.

    @Bill: it has started coming into its own.

    @Marianne: she had a lot of tattoo work.

    @Lowell: indeed!

    @Beth: I have no idea.

  8. This type of summer festival has become very popular. Most of it is local and they bring in a few out of town acts and it's a big success.

  14. @Norma: and big too!

    @Red: it does draw people out.

    @Judy: it was!

    @Cloudia: next year I should devote more time to it.

    @Grace: if it gets rained out it ends up being a waste.

    @Sharon: she was certainly vamping for the camera in between sets. I imagine she was a sword juggler.

    @Janey: me too.

    @MB: it was.

    @Linda: I am quite rough where chess is concerned.

  22. @Eve: she does!

    @Linda: I don't do many of them.

    @Carolann: I tend to be a bit shy of asking people for that.

    @Jennifer: the event's been going on several years. I have a series coming up in early August for this year's edition.
