The Grand Hall

Here are more views today from inside the Grand Hall at the Museum of History.

The path leads to an extensive area with First Nations artifacts from across the country. Starting on the one side gives us this blend of past and present- First Nations people encamped on the Gatineau side of the Ottawa River, a few metres away from where this is, and the present day Parliament Hill on the Ottawa side of the river.

Just a taste of what's in here- a rich mixture of attire from First Nations people, each vastly different from the other.

I finish off for today with Inuit Today, a 1974 sculpture by Pierre Karlik.

  5. I know a fellow who owns a good deal of first rate Inuit art, collected in the fifties and early sixties, when he lived in the north, and it is stunning.
