The first day of each month is a theme day for members of City Daily Photo. And for December, that theme is Rainbow. Check out how others are taking on that theme right here.
I'm starting with three shots taken earlier in the year during a visit to the Canadian Museum of Nature, one of our national museums here in Ottawa. One of the galleries is the Arctic Gallery, and the walls feature some multi-coloured murals.
In May we get the Tulip Festival here in various places in both Ottawa and Gatineau. Mixes of colours in flowerbeds are to be expected. In these shots, they're taken in Commissioners Park at Dow's Lake.
These were over at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau.
And this was the last tulip shot I took for the year, outside an office building downtown.
A rarity, it seems: I actually photographed a rainbow. This was in August in the Glebe.
I'm finishing with rainbow in a different context. Each summer outside the Chateau Laurier, panels are hung in the summers with different themes. This year it was about the LGBT community in Canada, profiling various people from across the country. Here are two of them.
All the colours of the rainbow are present.
