Caving

One of the interactive displays is a camera system that allows you to see yourself in different ways.

Some buildings from across the world can be seen here, near and far.

A cave has been reproduced inside the Museum, with display panels and a booklet of cave features at the entrance.

  1. Interesting exhibits, though I don't think I'll be taking up caving any time soon.

  2. Seeing myself in one way is already too much!

  3. Well, a cave is better than nothing, is it. Fun pictures of you, too :-)
    Maybe try a smile (yes, I have to give advice on that!!! I never manage).

  4. Hello, I do not like photos of myself. Yours looks great. My hubby loves to go caving, me not so much.
    Take care and be well. Wishing you a happy new week!

  5. Glad to see what you may look like, within the tricks of their system. I can't imagine living in caves, which apparently humans once did.

  6. You look just like your profile photo.
    Caves are beautiful. I'm grateful there are folks that go in caves...where I shall never go. lol

  7. That may the only way that I would go caving!

  8. I have a teeny bit of claustophobia that makes caving scary for me.

  9. I would never cave. Tight spaces give me the creeps.

  10. Nice to see you William 😉 that last shot of man climbing out of cave took my breath away, not in a good way 😀

  11. I wouldn't want to climb into or out of a tiny cave entrance like that one.

  12. A big wide open cave is nice but crawling through anything...nope!

  13. Caves are wonderful and mysterious places. I have visited several of them in France.

  14. ...I'm not sure that I want to see myself in many ways!

  15. I wouldn't be good exploring a cave. Tight spots like that make me uncomfortable.

  16. @fun60: so do I.

    @John: we have some in Ontario, but not big ones.

    @David: hah!

    @Iris: I inevitably smirk.

    @Francisco: thank you.

    @Marianne: thanks!

    @Eileen: this is a neat cave.

    @Barbara: they can be places of wonder.

    @Maywyn: it can be an obsession.

    @RedPat: the cave they have made here is spacious enough to give no trouble for those with claustrophobia.

    @DJan: it wouldn't be the case here.

    @Red: it seems a common problem.

    @Grace: I can see that.

    @Sharon: a tight fit.

    @Jenn: understandable.

    @Jan: France has some big ones.

    @Tom: I didn't do the warping stuff this time.

    @Bill: I don't mind.

  17. I have been in a few caves here in Kentucky, as we are famous for them. However, I never have enjoyed their tight spaces.

  18. Hi William! It's fun to see you! I'll pass on the caves! I need slightly more open spaces, but they do look fascinating.

  19. I have tried caving when I was younger, not something I would want to do now though

  22. Hi William, the last time I was in a cavern was years ago. Hope you're okay up there.

  23. You looked pretty much the same in both those pictures. Haven't been in a cave since I took the children. Years ago, now.

  25. I'm happy burrowing into my own cave -- also known as home.

  26. Not sure I would be brave enough to go into some of the darkest tight places underground, although caves always do intrigue me. Great post.

  27. I see you!

    I'm not keen on enclosed spaces so me in a cave is perhaps not a good idea!

    All the best Jan

  28. @Michelle: my cave experiences have been mostly limited to places on the Niagara Escarpment.

    @Jeanie: caves interest me.

    @Marleen: thank you!

    @Bill: I think it probably either stays with you or fades away.

    @Carol: there's plenty of space in the artificial cave created in the museum. You can use a wheelchair in there.

    @Marie: it's not for everyone, of course.

    @Denise: thank you.

    @Joanne: it's been awhile for me. There are a few caves in these parts.

    @Padre: the nearest cave to here is in the Gatineau Hills.

    @Kay: good point!

    @Gemel: thanks.

    @Jan: probably not.
