All Creatures Great And Small

A species that undertakes great migrations each year is the caribou. A diorama features several of them, and even more painted into the background.

From a big species to a small one. There are three small dioramas in this passage, and this is the first one, featuring a collared pika, a small critter of the far north.

  4. One of the great wildlife migrations I have always dreamed of seeing is of the caribou in our north. I have never done so and at this stage in my life probably never will, unfortunately.

  16. Nice photos of the exhibit. Caribou antlers are fancier and more commanding than deer antlers.

  21. William - caribou are majestic. I am especially fascinated by the intricate nature of the antlers! We have seen pikas in Montana and Idaho - they are adorable, and always on the move!
