Hares And Cougars

Two Arctic hares are at the heart of this diorama. 


An opossum is found here.


The last diorama features a female and two cubs: the cougar. We'll take a closer look tomorrow.

  1. The arctic hares are particularly beautiful. Some of our mountain hares change to white in the winter, though we have so little snow these days that it can't be a very useful adaptation nowadays.

  10. I didn't realize how large the Arctic hare is until I saw one... about twice a large as our jack rabbit.

  21. We have bobcats back in Ohio. Not nearly so impressive as cougars, though.

  22. I have only ever seen one white hare in the wild and that was one snowy winter in the highlands of Scotland.
