One night earlier this month, I was up late, checking out social media, and on Facebook, there was a mention by Jack, who has his photoblog from Connecticut, of northern lights. I decided to go out to Lansdowne Park, where in the darkened park at the east end of the property, I was rewarded. I've seen the aurora borealis on a number of occasions, but this was incredible. Mostly vivid greens, but hints of red and orange, danced and shimmered in the night sky. I walked around the area, taking photographs as I went. The Aberdeen Pavilion is particularly photogenic in these conditions.
It is almost mystical.

DeleteBeautiful aurora
ReplyDeleteDefinitely.
DeleteYes that is beautifull to see!
ReplyDeleteVery much so.
Delete...wonderful, I slept through it.
ReplyDeleteI texted a buddy with a photo, and in all capitals wrote you're missing this.
DeleteWonderful. Too much light here to be able to see them.
ReplyDeleteI can see that.
DeleteI would LOVE to see the lights in person. We glimpsed them here in NC not too long ago, but faintly and best seen with a camera.
ReplyDeleteThey were amazing.
DeleteSince I go to bed soon after ten, I missed this series of northern lights.
ReplyDeleteI talked with someone a couple of days ago who said she had seen them around 7:30 at her place up the valley.
DeleteWow! Amazing captures!

DeleteThat's wonderful! I didn't see it so beautiful. But sun's maximum isn't over, so there is still hope.
