I overdid things yesterday with a museum visit, but it couldn't be helped, as I was in need of photos and the museums close down here for a few days in January. Those of you on Facebook or who saw my New Years comment will know I had a bad fall on New Years Eve and damaged my left knee. I'm very slowly mending, and glad I'm still off this week. I hate painkillers, by the way.
For the second of these posts, I come twice a month to the Portage Bridge, where the bridge passes over the Ottawa River. Downstream from here are landmarks like the Alexandra Bridge, Kiweki Point, the National Gallery, Parliament Hill, the Supreme Court, and Victoria Island. Standing here, I'm generally at the provincial boundary of Quebec to the left and Ontario to the right.
I begin with this shot taken in the first days of July, on what was a hot afternoon.
Later in July, I returned.
I took this shot around mid-August.
By month's end, this was the view.
I returned in the first half of September and captured this view.
Later in the month, this is how things looked.
One day in October, I returned. Fall colours were starting to set in.
Something a little different. I left my second visit until the last day of the month, and even then, late in the day. This is effectively an evening shot taken on Hallowe'en.
Some days later, in early November, I took a shot after leaving the War Museum.
Later in the month, I returned.
I took this shot in mid-December, on a day with some snow and a brooding sky.
Finally, this shot was on a sunny Christmas Eve.
Thank you William

ReplyDeleteThank you.
Delete...William, you are a wonderful observer of the river!
ReplyDeleteIt is a mighty river.
DeleteWonderful views over the river during the year.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteNice comparison. My knee is not as injured as yours, but it is very sore and I really need to see a doctor about it. I was hoping it would just get better by itself. I think I twisted it a couple weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteI'll be glad when I'm through with the painkillers.
DeleteIt's interesting to notice the different light conditions through these photos.
ReplyDeleteYes it is.
DeleteLots of healing energy hugs ~ sorry about your knee ~
ReplyDeleteGreat seasonal photos of the Ottawa River ~
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

ReplyDeleteIt'll take time, and I'll be glad to downgrade to Tylenol.
