At the Delta, a hotel downtown housing the athletes and staff for the event, I took these two photographs outside, where an overlay had been put outside the doors for the World Junior Hockey Championships.
Ottawa was the host for the annual end of year and into the new year event. Ten teams played at TD Place Lansdowne and the Canadian Tire Centre for the championship in what is always a well attended event. Canada, the United States, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Czechia, Slovakia, Latvia, and Kazakhstan participated this year.
I attended a number of games at TD Place. A pre-tournament game was held between Canada and Switzerland that I watched.
Also at Lansdowne, in the Aberdeen Pavilion, there was a fan festival. Flags of the participating nations hung overhead.
There were also multiple display cases with jerseys and other items, some of them Canadian, others from other participating countries.
The Stanley Cup was also present one of the times I turned up.
Lastly, an ice rink was set up inside. Rather fitting, as this building once hosted Stanley Cup games. We'll see more tomorrow.
Great photos, it must be exciting to see your team playing in the tournament. Take care, have a great day!
