You And What Army?

This sculpture leans more towards an abstract look, though its pose reminds me of a defiant stance... or the sculpture is giving someone the finger. Either way, I like it.

  2. I think it is wonderful.
    Sure filled with emotion.
    I have to ask... it looks like the East coast of America, especially Boston, has more snow that where you are. You are out and about taking photos but they keep telling people here stay home ! Did you get your normal snow ?

    cheers, parsnip

  12. @Merisi: it does, yes.

    @Parsnip: we're probably up where our average snowfall over a winter should be. It was a slow start, but it's caught up. What's going on at the coast, some of that weather we get, but some we don't get.

    @Bill: raging at the stars, no doubt.

    @Massimo: we get a good deal of snow over the winter.

    @Halcyon: very much so.

    @Tomas: I can see that too.

    @Cloudia: a boxing sculpture; who'd have thought?

    @Mike: that's certainly how it came across to me.

    @Revrunner: I could have used that for the title!

    @Jan: thanks!

    @Marianne: oh, yes.

    @Grace: given the circumstances, yes.

    @Tamago: it certainly does.

    @Karl: I like the carver's style.

  18. I agree it's a fighting stance, reminds me of a horse also with the "mane" of hair.

  20. Now that is a powerful sculpture. (Your camera angle is superb - giving the sculpture added strength.)

  23. Catching up with these amazing ice sculptures. Almost makes me want to go outside...almost. It's -23 here...how is the temp in Ottawa?

  24. It reminds me of Hercules (the cartoon) from my childhood days. :)

  27. It manages to be whimsical and defiant at the same time. That takes some artistic talent!

  28. Not only the arm action but the stance of the legs looks defiant. I think of the stance of a boxer ready to begin a round of boxing.

  29. It's ready for a fight, or could be giving the finger to all your haters!
