"Cookies, the Dark Side has. Broccoli, the Jedi have. A problem this is." ~ Yoda, Star Wars Episode 3.5: The Death Of Jar Jar Binks
Snow sculptures could be found during Winterlude in the Byward Market. This first one stood outside the Ottawa School of Art, done by students from inside. It incorporated floral patterns, a face, and a fairy.
Across the street, Jocelyn Galipeau, whose work I showed a few days back, also carved this rendition of the familiar and diminutive Jedi Master Yoda.
A few days later, and down the street, I was passing through the Market when I noticed a crowd. On Family Day, several Market cafes and shops had a hot chocolate tasting going on here, so you'd go around trying their various drinks and vote on your favourite. My choice was one with a peppermint addition- odd, because peppermint on its own isn't something I usually go for.
yoda is cute. :)
ReplyDeleteYoda looks cold! But he is watching for spammers...
ReplyDeleteJust one more art form, that I'm sure I'd be inept at.

ReplyDeleteI would love to go there for hot chocolate tasting. Yum :-)
I've never been into Star Wars, but I can see excellent artistic (sculptural) ability when I see it. Great fun if a little cold!
ReplyDeleteJust a tiny hint of mint in hot cocoa does taste good. I think I will make myself some now. thank you.
ReplyDeleteMB
What a lovely snow sculpture.
ReplyDeleteHot chocolate? Chocolat chaud ? I'll taste! I might look at the sculptures too mind you but now I'm thinking I might make myself one as a nightcap -without additions though-. It snowed earlier on here but only for a little while and it's all gone again...
ReplyDeleteSo intricate and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHot chocolate sounds good!
ReplyDeleteHot chocolate and snow sculptures - Perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe snow sculptures are so nice. They make me miss the invitational sand sculptures we used to have here. And a hot chocolate tasting? That sounds like frosting on the cake!

ReplyDeleteNope, don't think I'd reach for the peppermint either.
ReplyDeleteYes, I would go for the peppermint, William. Yoda was captured very well in snow.
ReplyDeleteLoved the fairy. Since I didn't taste the concoction, I can't comment.

ReplyDeletePeppermint and chocolate? Mmmmh, doesn't look like my preferred choice but then neither was it yours. Perhaps I would have shared your views. Nice initiative anyway. I love the idea of tasting various hot chocolates !!!
