More shots from the St. Patrick's Day parade this past weekend, starting with the saint himself.
Crossing down into the Glebe, I took note of this dog marching with the parade. Other dogs were watching.
And here at the end of the route, at Lansdowne, I wanted a shot with Abbotsford House in the background. I'd caught up to the greyhounds from yesterday as they arrived.
For these things and ... for others, you are unique. You do very well.
ReplyDeleteTomás.
I love they way St Paddy's day is celebrated over your side of the pond. They do it big
ReplyDeleteI notice through the years lots of dogs at parades. Don't know if the noise bothers them but I hope not.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! It must have been fun outing for the dogs :-)
ReplyDeleteNice colorful shots of the parade again.
ReplyDeleteLots of fun elements to this parade William, love the pooches :)
ReplyDeleteMarching dogs! Now that's a new one for me.

I love those red plaid kilts.
ReplyDelete@Beth: especially the wrinkly one!
ReplyDelete@Red: and the weather helped- I've seen rainy parades.
@Halcyon: there was, yes.
@MB: thank you!
@Sharon: they do stand out, don't they?
Jolly good fun, lad!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Chicago where they go all out for St. Patricks
ReplyDeleteThey had Irish Wolfhounds marching in our parade!
ReplyDeleteWe need more Irish people around here!
ReplyDeletei like the green ambulance. :)
ReplyDeleteMore great photos of the parade and I adore those beautiful dogs.
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff, the Irish certainly know how to do a parade, wonderful...
ReplyDelete@Cloudia: thanks!
ReplyDelete@Linda: there are a great many Irish descended people here in Ottawa and beyond, and so it shows itself.
@RedPat: I looked for any of those in the crowd... the wrinkly one will have to do!
@VP: when Irish eyes are smiling, they're up to something.
@Tex: I did too. I hadn't photographed ambulances or fire trucks before, so I figured it didn't hurt to do both, giving a look at what ours look like.
@Denise: they were all adorable. The two white ones, I figured, might be mother and pup.
@Geoff: this one was a good one.
Great photos of this event. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Even the dogs are enjoying it. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteThere was quite a variety in your local parade.
ReplyDeleteSo, you had St. Patrick himself! And some very cute dogs, too.
ReplyDeleteThat first building/house is painfully symmetric! I think a "house" theme for one of the theme days would be great.

ReplyDeleteI do too.
DeleteMy favorite are the dogs.
ReplyDeleteThey're cute!
DeleteThanks for taking me along to this parade, William. We attended the St Patrick's Day parade in Mystic, CT. It was a blustry and cold day with very large crowds despite the weather.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome.
