A Hitchcockian Sight

I wonder what Hitchcock would have made of this.

The next topiary along the trail was this show stopper, and like yesterday's topiary also installed newly for this year. The Bird Tree is its title, and it consists of 56 kinds of birds grouped around a tree, set within a pond. Reptiles and amphibians like a turtle, frog, and iguana also feature around its base. All of the 56 are considered endangered, and include a wide array of species as marked on panels around the topiary- the Egyptian vulture, the Javan Hawk-Eagle, the Ouvea Parakeet, Waved Albatross, Great Green Macaw, Oriental Stork, California Condor, and more. I took photos as I walked around it, altering the settings in some of them to brighten things up a bit, leaving other shots alone.

  7. @Haddock: that's true!

    @Rosemary: I wish I could have had a sunny day on my visit, but my camera allows for a variance of photo edits that I can save, so I chose some that enhanced colours. I've got more of that coming up.

    @Francisco: thank you.

    @Sandi: it is very creative.

    @Susie: it was a wonder to see.

    @Tom: a lot of imagination and a lot of ingenuity.

    @Jan: some of the birds are quite foreign to me.
