A Contortionist At Her Work

Bendy Em is an Australian busker who makes the circuit around the world with her contortionist act.  She grew up in Britain before going to Australia, resulting in a blend of accents, and has been at Buskerfest in the past with her show stopper act. At this time last year she was six months pregnant, she said, and that pretty much meant there was no way this act was doable.

She starts with warming up, bantering with the crowd as she goes along.

And then she starts doing things that, well, none of the rest of us are capable of.

As is generally the case with buskers, Bendy Em ropes in an unsuspecting onlooker to give her a hand getting out of this contorted position. More from this tomorrow.

  1. I have to admit I had to look up "contortionist" - we call it "Schlangenmensch", snake-person, easy, no?
The word, not the act itself!
