Small display cases feature dioramas of smaller animals, such as the Arctic ground squirrel.
This one, the eastern grey squirrel, is a familiar sight to many. The location, marked in the Gatineau Hills, has a familiar background to me, as I've taken pictures with that background. This would be one of the lookouts on the Champlain parkway up in the Hills, with the Ottawa River in the background.
Here we have the mountain dwelling collared pika.
I see not all squirrels have a big bushy tail.. beautifully presented dioramas William ✨
ReplyDelete...I never knew that there were so many kinds of squirrels until I saw a show on PBS.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThe Pika is cute, I saw my first Pike while visiting Colorado. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
Wonderful displays, especially the squirrels are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI could send them a few devilish grey squirrels if they need more! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe pika is a funny little critter as it skitters in and around the rocks above the treeline.
ReplyDeleteI love that squirrel on the branch. It looks so cute.
ReplyDeleteI amazes me any squirrel would live that for north.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of the squirrels ~ ^_^

Those squirrels looks so much bigger than the Red Squirrels we have.
ReplyDeleteI wish we could see more squirrels here.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a squirrel over here since we've been here.

@Red: I can imagine.
@Sharon: they are busy little ones.

@Marie: we have the red ones too.
@Marleen: we have plenty.
@Bill: they're quite at home here.
Love the squirrels …
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Me too.
DeleteInteresting, but not surprising, that they will make noisy warning calls.
ReplyDeleteIt's to be expected.
DeleteI've seen that grey squirrel somewhere... and his family too! They raid my bird feeders.
ReplyDeleteHah!
