Both Big And Small Mammals

A big land mammal, the moose, is featured in one diorama, with more of them painted into the background. Information on the panels below give some facts about them. They may look ungainly to some, but having had seen them in person in the wild, I find moose to be particularly majestic and beautiful animals.

From large to small: the panel found here identifies three related animals in the display beneath it. The least weasel, ermine, and long tailed weasel are found in the display with a fisher.

  1. A friend of mine went to Canada, work-wise, and nearly "caught" a moose. She made it to the company and fell asleep of stress!
I nearly once got a cow, boy. These animals are huge! And, yes, majestic.
I prefer the wee one there.

  6. I have a good memory of seeing a moose roam across my camp site many years ago up in the northern Arizona forest. They are quite impressive to see in person.

  9. Moose were the reason we gave up driving on the roads in Newfoundland at night. So deadly when you run into one on the highway.

  10. They certainly are massive, aren't they? I don't know that I'd want to encounter one in the woods!
