Dinosaurs In Water

Hanging overhead in the Fossil Gallery is a formidable sight. Archelon was the biggest of seafaring turtles in the Late Cretaceous.


A display below features a skull of terminonaris robusta, a marine crocodilian.


One more look at Archelon.

  11. The huge size of these creatures is amazing. Food must have been fairly abundant as they would have needed to eat a lot!

  12. Those are big! I found myself unexpectedly swimming with a giant sea turtle in Hawaii but I don't think it was so large.
