Mixed

I have some odds and ends for you today. I took this shot in the Glebe, with oversized raccoons outside of a community centre, dealing with the snow.

This graffiti tag was outside a takeaway restaurant. I deplore graffiti, and my inner editor dislikes the bad spelling.

In Gatineau, departing from Jacques Cartier Park during Winterlude, this house, with its mix of styles that suggests it's been added onto, caught my eye. It houses administrative offices for a city social services agency.

We got two big snowstorms on top of each other. This pile of snow was on the street close to home. It took over two weeks for the snow to be removed in my neighbourhood. Let's just say I'm not terribly impressed with our city council.

I attended a PWHL game at Lansdowne Park one weekend. I find hockey fun to photograph.

Outside, the Aberdeen Pavilion had icicles hanging off the roof. I'll have another take on this for the upcoming theme day.

The way a spotlight shone on this tree trunk in the north end of the Glebe caught my attention.

I took this shot one evening as I was approaching the Rideau Canal for my last walk on the ice of the year. This is the Armenian embassy.

When I finished that walk, I took this shot of the Government Conference Centre and the Chateau Laurier.

In early March, on a snowy day, I photographed Blessed Sacrament, a Catholic church in the Glebe.

  4. At first I was thinking the beavers were ice sculptures with mud thrown upon them...then I sussed out they were stone or something dark with snow on top! I enjoyed the house with additions. Sorry about more snow there...we had a somewhat warm and long winter it seems without much snow. Much later spring this year than last.

    1. Concrete, and they're raccoons. The artist used a mask around the eyes like they are in real life.

  5. In the last photo , there are more wires in the photo than anything else. It's a beautiful church.

    1. That church seems impossible to photograph without wires.
