  2. You have so many beautiful ice sculptures over there - love them!

  3. In the winter you would have to put clothes so they do not freeze, for they do get cold. (just kidding).

    Tomás.

  4. Made me think that ice would make a great medium for the Super Bowl trophy each year. That's about as long as the winning team has to bask in its glory. :-)

  6. I wish this one had been kept indoors as the details aren't as sharp are they?

  7. @Linda: thanks!

    @Aimee: thank you!

    @Sharon: quite delicate.

    @Marleen: I thought so.

    @Tomas: actually they do cover over a couple of ice sculptures periodically to minimize the effects of the sun. I've got one yet to come.

    @Revrunner: it would!

    @Grace: thank you!

    @Gill: that is what the sun does to these things.

  11. I am enjoying this series on ice sculpture. Every one is a winner. It's too bad that they all melt.

  13. @Hilary: I certainly think so.

    @Norma: it must be the blues.

    @Tex: possibly!

    @Jennifer: you're welcome.

    @Birdman: no, there were several sculptors.

    @Red: they are quite short lived.

    @EG: I'm glad I got so many shots in.

  19. There is an Icefest on here in Yorkville this weekend. I may try to get there tomorrow if it isn't too cold. It is no where near as large an event as yours is.

  21. The upturned trumpet and young one seem to complement the snow bound fountain feature behind. Beautiful.

  22. @VP: certainly not!

    @Cheryl: it has a cherubic look to it.

    @Janis: thank you!

    @Jan: yes, they're only with us a short time.

    @Halcyon: they have great imaginations.

    @Tamago: tomorrow's sculpture is going to be interesting for interpretation!

    @RedPat: I look forward to seeing what you come up with if you get there.

    @Ciel: it would be fitting.

    @Gemma: it does fit nicely in that setting.

  23. William, surely a 'cool' trumpet player, must be playing jazz..

  24. Another one I could entitle "What's not to like?"

  25. It seems such a pity that such art just disappears.

  26. @Geoff: definitely!

    @Kay: a good title!

    @Denise: thanks!

    @Pamela: I thought so too.

    @Mari: it does, alas, but while it's here, it's beautiful to behold.

  27. such detail .. I assume your photos from the Winterlude festival ... one the coldest nights of my life was in Ottawa at a hotel after a business event ... in the middle of the night the fire alarm went off and we all evacuated to the parking lot .. burr ... makes me shiver thinking about it.
