Distorted Views Of A Glass Wall

The glass wall here at the Convention Centre certainly allows for good reflections.

My title yesterday was in reference to the character Kang, a time travelling pain in the neck Big Bad where the Avengers are concerned. A terrific character, but let's just say trying to work him into a movie would cause no end of headaches.

  1. Thanks for the change to spring. Let's start another stage of life. These flowers encourage it!
    Have a good weekend!

  2. Makes you feel a bit dizzy to look in the mirrors.

  3. Love a good wall of mirrors!

    Happy Friday!

  4. Nice reflections and header. Have a great weekend William.

  5. This segmented wall is really inviting for this kind of pictures!

  6. Great glass wall pictures but I have to say I love the new 'top of the page' picture, really lovely

  7. Fine banner choice for this coming season.

  8. Awesome new header. You caught a great image in your photo today...very busy.

  9. William, I'm always fascinated at the biuldings that have all that glass. The reflections are beautiful, but what about the construction and the safety?

  10. @Tomas: it was time for a changeover, and I picked that one out some weeks ago for the spring banner.

    @Linda: it was taken in Jacques Cartier Park on the Gatineau side of the Ottawa River last May.

    @Marianne: it can have that effect.

    @Janis: thanks!

    @Luis: thank you.

    @VP: it certainly is.

    @Geoff: it was time to change, and somehow the Tulip Festival seems very springlike and appropriate.

    @Tex: definitely!

    @Birdman: thanks!

    @Red: it never seems quite the same, one day to another, photographing there.

    @Linda: the glass is quite strong and well cared for, and it has a great network of steel beams keeping it all in place.

  11. Neat reflections, William !
    And I like your new header too !

  12. The photographic opportunities are endless with this building. Love the new header photo.

  13. Somehow it reminds me of a fly's eyes. ;-)

  14. That glass makes for some interesting reflections!

  15. @Karl: thanks!

    @Eve: a big house of mirrors too!

    @Sharon: it was my first pick for a spring banner.

    @RedPat: I can see that.

    @Judy: it certainly does.

  16. Such beautiful reflections. Very nicely distorted :-)
    I love your new header. What beautiful flowers. Perfect for spring!

  19. Yes the diamond shaped panels really add that extra distortion to the reflections..I think I've said it before, your convention centre is so much more appealing than ours :)

  20. Great shots! And look at all that snow! :)

  21. Ah this is brilliant! And look at those tulips!!!

  22. Wonderful shots again. Like I said yesterday, it must be wonderful to play with your camera, the light and the segments and lines in the wall.
    I like your new header too, I hope you''' have a nice spring overthere.

  23. @Tamago: it'll be five or six weeks until we see them at this rate.

    @Revrunner: thanks!

    @Cheryl: thank you.

    @Beth: thanks!

    @Grace: this one works much better than the previous one at this site.

    @Meradeth: we still have snow. In fact, it's been snowing most of the day.

    @Ciel: they look so fresh.

    @Jan: it'll come eventually!

  24. that header is a keeper. Just wish they were blooming!!

  25. Those diamond shapes certainly offer the avid photography many a photo opportunity to get some unusual shots. And these photos are intriguing. Like distorted realities with creative flair.

  26. That is a beautiful header!!!! Cool photo!

  27. I too enjoy photographing glass walls and office buildings in large cities are always such good subjects. Sorry for not keeping up with recent blog posts, but even if I don't always comment, still try to read as many as I can but not on a daily basis. Thanks for your recent comments on our posts as well.

  28. I love your header! Spring in Ottawa means those glorious tulips to me.
    And the glass in your convention center could be a source of endless photographs!
    (You're still getting snow?!! That's amazing!)

  29. Even better than yesterday's!

  30. Looks like a great place for reflections!

  31. Beautiful. Also love the new blog header.

  32. @Gill: the header for spring always comes well before the tulips.

    @Gemma: it's been awhile since I last gave this building a good walk through for photos.

    @Mari: it did.

    @Jennifer: thanks!
