Sophie the fireweaver was another act I caught during the buskers festival (though I wasn't around when the torches came out). She incorporates dance, juggling, and the performance style of poi into her act. When I came across her on Sparks Street, she was juggling before moving into some knifework. And yes, it did end up looking like she was dancing.
Wow!
ReplyDeletePhew! She looks like a mighty talented woman.
ReplyDeleteBless the buskers - preachers of ART!

ReplyDeleteMany of these performers have gone to training schools where they learn the tricks of the trade. This one has been able to use the tricks of the trade for a first class show.

@Cheryl: it refers to both the equipment- things like sticks, torches, blades, and the like, and the style of performance, which is at its basic the spinning movement of these objects and items. At least that's how I understand it.
@Tamago: it was!
