I'm starting with some fall colours today, and I've got a lot, so with the odd interruption, I'll be posting well into November, though the peak of it all is around now.
I was crossing the Rideau River at Billings Bridge one gloomy morning and caught the sight of the fisherman on the river contrasting well with the fall colours. As you can particularly see with the second shot, water levels have been low.
These are from different street locales in Centretown.
These two were taken in Dundonald Park in Centretown, always a good spot for fall colours.
This one was near my home in Old Ottawa South.
And I'll finish today with this one, outside the Billings Bridge Mall.
Beautiful river scene with great colours and fisherman caught in the scene! I am enjoying the lovely colours of autumn which we don't find over here.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos of autumn, and I especially like your river scenes. Have a pleasant Sunday, William!
ReplyDeleteSo nice the autumn colours.
ReplyDeleteOttawa is beautiful all the time, but now in fall more, I think.
ReplyDeleteTomás.
Autumn is the best season, long live our cameras! :)
ReplyDeleteOttawa looks beautiful in its autumn colours.
ReplyDeleteKeep the autumn photos coming. Lovely!

@Nancy: this part of the world sees good fall colour.
ReplyDelete@Kate: thanks!
@Marianne: they have been so this year.
@Tomas: I agree.
@Marleen: there is no shortage of photo subjects at present.
@Bill: it certainly does.
love maples. miss them here. beautiful opening shot!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to start with a comparison of light conditions. Yes, you've got color. All our leaves have been gone for a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteYou have captured much fabulous autumn colour here William, looking forward to seeing more!
ReplyDeleteLovely autumnal shots, William. But that lone fisherman on that piece of glass is perfection. It would really look good hanging on a wall.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall colors. I enjoy seeing the photos because we won't see trees turn until January.
ReplyDelete@Janis: much more to come.
ReplyDelete@Tex: that river scene were the first specific fall shots I took this year, aside from a couple of incidental shots on Green Island.
@Red: here they've been a bit late this year.
@Grace: and I'm still taking photos. Did more today.
@Lowell: thank you!
@Sharon: that would be weird to me!
Really like that first shot! Any color we had has been blown off the trees by the wind & rain on Thursday & Friday.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours and reflections, William! Lovely series!
ReplyDeleteNice fall shots. I like the fisherman shot with the water so still. I think our fall will be very short. It started late, but suddenly many of the trees are bare from recent high winds.
ReplyDeleteWendy
I love this time of year!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSeems like the fall colors are the same in Arizona as they are in Ottawa.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are lovely.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Keep posting them because I love fall.
ReplyDeletegorgeous fall colors. so pretty. we have not much, most have fallen to the ground without ever changing colors? you have to go to tip top mtns to see real colors. guess it is just not cold enough here? ( ;
ReplyDeleteJust a wonderful climate!
ReplyDeleteSeems like you can always count on maple leaves for color.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are all beautiful but I love the mood of your first shot.
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is so peaceful. Amazing colours.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful autumn colors! I love the first photo with fisherman. It must be really nice to go out there on a boat...relax and enjoy autumn colors :-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice to see all those colours.
ReplyDeleteJa das sind die Farben vom Herbst schön.
ReplyDeleteNoke
Beautiful! I'll be happy when our trees have more color!
ReplyDelete@RedPat: we've lost a good deal of them by now.
ReplyDelete@Linda: thanks!
@Wendy: our fall colours have been late this year.
@Whisk: it is a great time of year.
@Catalyst: some different trees though.
@Mari: they certainly are.
@Lois: much more to come.
@Beth: climate and elevation can both be factors.
@Cloudia: it's seemed to be a good year this year, which surprises me given the drought we had over the summer.
@Revrunner: maples tend to be the most vibrant colours come fall.
@Kay: thanks!
@Debs: thank you.
@Tamago: it was peaceful that day.
@Jan: thanks, and it's a pleasure to show them.
@Noke: thanks!
@Norma: show some at your blog when the time comes.
