I've passed by this water feature countless times, but never photographed it. It's at City Hall, with the horizontal lines of the main courthouse and the modern wing of City Hall as backdrops to the fountain. I stopped by each day on a weekend in September for an event that was taking place here.
The event in question is called the Army Run, which I'll show more of over the next two posts. For now, I leave off with an M777 towed Howitzer and a military transport truck.
I love all your water photos, William!

Beautifully shown here William. I know what you mean about passing things by regularly and then you realise they would make a good image 😊
ReplyDeleteThat first shot is especially striking...the way you composed it with all those horizontal lines, including the buildings in the background.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of water works. Love the 1st photo.
ReplyDeleteFountains fascinate people. Shapes , motion,sound all contribute to our interest. Nice shots.
ReplyDelete@Linda: thanks!
ReplyDelete@Marianne: they are, yes.
@Bill: and soon, if not already, it'll be time to shut it off for the winter.
@Marleen: that is true.
@Tex: they do that nicely.
@Janis: I thought so myself.
@Grace: it does happen!
@Lowell: thanks!
@Nancy: thank you.
@Red: fountains do draw my attention.
I like this kind of water feature. I am always drawn to them. The Army Run sounds interesting too. I shall look forward to more photos.
ReplyDeleteThat fountain looks like a perfect place to relax.
ReplyDeleteHello, it is a pretty water feature. Nice fountains. Happy weekend to you!
ReplyDeleteThe fountains: just like Las Vegas! (well, not really.)
ReplyDeleteA very modern city hall!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is really nice! The five top images.
ReplyDelete@Denise: it's quite an event. It brings out thousands of participants, all for a good cause. Two good causes, actually.
ReplyDelete@Sharon: that it is.
@Eileen: thank you!
@Catalyst: oh, those ones are huge!
@RedPat: the modern wing is so different from the Heritage Building wing, which from here is hidden away behind the courthouse.
@Gunn: thanks!
I love the water fountain! It brings very relaxing and refreshing atmosphere :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely water fountains.
ReplyDeleteI must say I like the water feature than the howitzer. I can almost hear it splashing in your very nice shots.
ReplyDeleteI passed a fountain yesterday but couldn't figure out a good way to capture it. They add so much to an urban setting.
ReplyDeleteThe kind of water feature that is forbidden in my drought stricken part of Earth. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice fountain.
ReplyDeletewater, & puddles 2. splashing ( ;
ReplyDelete@Tamago: I imagine it'll be shut down for the winter at some point in the next week or two. Fountains here tend to require it.
ReplyDelete@Orvokki: I have always thought so.
@Kay: it does make enough noise that you can hear it when you approach.
@Revrunner: they can be challenging. It depends on sky conditions as well.
@Mari: this one recirculates its water.
@Jack: it is indeed.
@Beth: I imagine dogs must splash about.
