This is a view of fall colours along Sussex Drive, taken from near the French embassy in New Edinburgh. You might notice the presence of the French flag hanging from a streetlight here- the French PM was making an official visit some days after I was here. On such occasions, Canadian and national flags are hung up in pairs along Confederation Boulevard, the official designation of a number of streets, including Sussex, that link major sites in the capital.
Here are views of the embassy itself, with fall colours on full display.
Next to the embassy, and where New Edinburgh ends, is the parkland around Rideau Falls, where the Rideau River spills into the Ottawa River in two branches. This is the east branch.
Across the Ottawa River is Gatineau, Quebec, dressed in fall colours. I have more from here for the next couple of days. To my American readers- get out and vote. On behalf of much of the rest of the world, we're all counting on you to do the right thing in regards to the Infernal Combover. And I'll use some British slang: tell that self absorbed prat, wanker, and bloody git to sod off.
Marvellous shots !
ReplyDeleteTomás.
These shots are the calm, tranquil, palate cleansing views I will return to when the election results heat up. Please teach us some more British slang!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the serenity and invigoration
ReplyDeleteWonderful fall colours under the clear blue sky again, William. But living in a rather flat country I mostlty like your pictures of the falls. :-)
ReplyDeleteThese photos show an incredibly beautiful place, especially those waterfalls. Autumn really blesses Ottawa and surrounding areas.

Infernal Combover. Ha! Only another hour and a half before the polls start closing and the results start pouring in.

Gorgeous Colors!
ReplyDeleteThe falls are glorious as are your nonstop autumn colors.
ReplyDeleteThe Orange One cannot disappear soon enough for me.
I usually love red...but don't care to see my tellie light up red tonight.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images!
ReplyDeleteYour British slang sounds very much like Aussie slang. :D As you know I love Autumn colours but am hoping for less red. :)
ReplyDeleteSorry our system let you down! Your falls are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThose waterfalls are wonderful. I would visit there often.
ReplyDelete@Mari: definitely!
ReplyDelete@Kay: if only the Orange One would go away!
@Janey: unfortunately things didn't go that way in 2016. Hopefully the prick is gone before 2020.

@Linda: alas, at least it's an object lesson.
@Jack: I enjoy visiting them.
