I've featured Major's Hill Park already in the series; here Colonel By looks across to Parliament Hill, with a row of tulips behind him. It was busy in the park during the final weekend of the festival, as people explored the flowerbeds throughout the park.
The flower sellers do not have much future there ... right? (Just kidding).

Wow! They are so beautiful. So colourful too!
ReplyDelete...and the color keeps coming!
ReplyDeleteHow many tulips do they estimate are in your city? How many varieties? What is the rarest? They look so well groomed.

Wow, more lovely tulips. They are so colorful and cheerful to see. Great series! Happy Friday, enjoy your day and weekend!
ReplyDeletelove the water view, cityscape & all the people checking out the blooms, what a crowd! ( ;
ReplyDelete@Tomas: hah!
ReplyDelete@Francisco: thank you.
@Nancy: they are indeed.
@Tom: more to come.
@Janis: more than a million bulbs get placed. I would estimate in any given year there would be fifty to a hundred different types.
@Eileen: thank you!
@Beth: it was very busy.
There must be millions of tulips alltogether.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if these bulbs are all dug up and replanted?
ReplyDeleteGreat colours !
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about all the work involved in the planting and caring for these gorgeous flowers! Pretty amazing.
ReplyDeletePlease note I've moved to a new blog after 8 years with CDP. It will focus more on creative photography than a place. It's called "Lowell's Photos" and is located at http://www.lowellsphotos.com. Hope to see you there.
The placement of colors in these beds was nicely done as it shows things off very well.
ReplyDeleteI love those patches of pink in the mix!
ReplyDelete@Marleen: there are a lot!
ReplyDelete@Janey: yes, they're dug up around now and replanted in the fall. During the summer these beds have different flowers in them. Such is the case throughout the various flowerbeds across both cities.
@Karl: I agree!
@Lowell: it's a lot of work.
@Red: it really does.
@Sharon: so do I.
It's amazing how many tulips there are...
ReplyDeleteAmazing is the word!
ReplyDeletePeople are still enjoying seeing them. It is pretty impressive considering all the work that goes in to it the event. The workers in the background that you don't see do an excellent job.
ReplyDeleteIt would be great to explore the city, especially this time of the year with all those gorgeous displays of color. Thanks for sharing again William :)
ReplyDeleteStunning displays of beautiful tulips - a photo opportunity at every turn.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder the people were there. The beds are a wonder! Sorry, I couldn't help that, but they are breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteThose pink ones are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteLovely scenes!
ReplyDeleteTulips are such beautiful blossoms. They're perfect for settings like these.
ReplyDeleteIt's also nice to see the people in your photographs enjoying this wonderful display.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
You know, I had one of those special tulips, but neglected to actually photograph it! sigh.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to miss the tulips when this series is over!
ReplyDelete@Halcyon: it was a good year for the tulips.
ReplyDelete@RedPat: it was!
@Bill: the crews do great work.
@Denise: you're welcome!
@Dianne: definitely!
@Mari: I agree!
@Lois: they are.
@Linda: indeed.
@Kay: they are, yes.
@Jan: many people come from all over for it.
@Jennifer: well, it bloomed for you!
@Norma: I really miss them, but there's so much going on in their wake.
