Ornamental Garden

Picking up where we left off yesterday, this is another vantage point of the Horse And Cattle Barn, part of the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum.

East of the museum area, the Experimental Farm features an ornamental garden with numerous flowerbeds.

  1. What a lovely park William. I really love the purple gates and trellis too. (I’m sorry to see you have a spammer commenting above. I hate those trolls.)

  3. So bucolic.

    That roof looks like it could use some solar panels.

  7. @Sallie: it's quite a place. Every once in awhile a spammer like that gets through, but I've removed all of her, his, or its comments.

    @Siddhartha: I certainly think so.

    @Nancy: I agree!

    @Francisco: thanks!

    @Janis: I think one of the barns does use some solar panels. It might well be that one, but on the other side, or perhaps angled in a way that they're not obvious from this perspective, on the less steep elements than the main roof.

    @Marie: it would be a lot of work.

    @Jan: I do as well.

    @Eileen: thank you!

    @Maywyn: thanks!

  10. Surprising Harper never cut the Experimental far. The farm is a great example for farmers and provides research on many aspects of farming.

  12. @Tom: and this one is beautifully taken care of.

    @RedPat: they had no shortage of sunlight.

    @Red: I'm sure he'd have loved to, with his dislike of science, research, and evidence, not to mention Ottawa as a whole.

    @Sharon: it appeals to me too.

    @Lady Fi: it certainly is.

    @Lois: I'm surprised I didn't feature it up until now.

  16. that's a beautiful garden, but as someone mentioned - must be a lot of work. and they did a great job taking care of it.

  17. @Grace: definitely.

    @Cloudia: it's the left arm that's the real problem, though I have noticed the bruise on the right leg seems darker now than it did this morning.

    @Marleen: it certainly is.

    @Bill: thank you!

    @Klara: I imagine they've got a whole crew. When I was here there were people working in a couple of the flowerbeds.

  20. So many features are recorded by you in what must be a relatively small area - it is terrific effort. Very summer like and rural and could just as well be miles away from a big city. Apart from rustic sheep shearing sheads -which I like - farms around here are generally much more haphazard without 'establishment-like' structures they don't echo European or any other styles although a few seek to look like the 'old country'.

  25. @Beth: my leg's managed to recover, along with the rest of me. Just a bit of bruising left.

    @MB: It's quite a place to wander.

    @Kay: it's all well seen to.

    @Julia: some farms here can be like that.

    @Gattina: it certainly is.

    @Carol: I do too.

    @Norma: so do I.

    @Jeanie: gardens look lovely, until the first frost.

    @Revrunner: this one's a good one for that.

    @Jan: you're welcome.
