The Caribou And Skittish Critters

The next diorama in the Mammal Gallery focuses on a group of caribou.

A display case features a familiar sight. Don't startle these critters.

Probably best to not let your big goofy dog have a run in with one of these either.

  1. Yes, one of the TV veterinarian shows sometimes has a dog that got close to a porcupine. Some dogs do it more than once!

  6. Lovely critters. I haven't seen our skunk in ages. Porcupine was on the trailcam, though!

  7. Those dioramas are so well done, William. We went through the dog sprayed by a skunk experience once and I hope to never have a repeat!

  8. Hello William, very pertinent diorama of the caribou. Ewgh, the skunk shouldn't be startled. Porcupines are hunted and bred for their quills in South Africa, Be safe and keep well. Jo

  11. One of my dogs got sprayed by a skunk year ago and then came in to the house. That was the first time I ever smelled one and it wasn't pleasant.

    1. I've had the odd occasion to say hello to a skunk. The key is to not startle it.
