One day during tulip time I went back to the War Memorial. Planters were set up across the street coming out of Sparks Street.
The Memorial looms in the background here beyond the trees.
Tulips can be found ringing around the Memorial site. We'll see more of this tomorrow.
Beautiful. Sad we need memorials, wish life was more peaceful.

While I haven't been posting a comment on every post, William, I have been enjoying the beauty of these tulip blooms. It's a welcome break from all the sadly negative news and images.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet they have to water those these days!
ReplyDeleteThe tulips look lovely around the Memorial.

ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
@Agnieszka: thank you.
ReplyDelete@Iris: in this case, the memorial is done beautifully. It's about commemoration and mourning, not lionizing.

@Jennifer: there are now flowers in planters around the memorial that do need watering.
@Bill: they certainly do.
@Jan: thanks!
Effective placement of tulips.
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteI'm beginning to wonder if there are any places in Ottawa that aren't planted with tulips.
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot.
