I returned to Major's Hill Park to get another view of tulips days after my first visit. The bed behind Colonel John By's statue was in full bloom.
Walking along that bed gives background views of landmarks like the Connaught Building and the Chateau Laurier.
While at the far end, Parliament Hill can be glimpsed looking west towards the Colonel.
Gorgeous display of lovely tulips and great views too
ReplyDeleteColonel John By also enjoyed ... LOL
ReplyDelete...the beauty continues.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteGreat looking statue and beautiful tulips! Enjoy your day, have a great week ahead.
Amazingly, many Canadians are unaware that Ottawa was originally called Bytown - and why.
ReplyDeleteA lovely place to visit William!
ReplyDeleteLike the statue and those gorgeous tulips! Wonderful photos!

Dimi...
I wonder will Colonel By’s statue be one of the ones in question these days?
ReplyDeleteYou must have taken hundreds of tulip pics!
ReplyDeleteOttawa must be the city with the most tulips.
ReplyDelete@Jenny: thank you!
ReplyDelete@Ella: the Colonel would be pleased.
@Tom: and more to come.

@Marie: I shouldn't see why.
@Agnieszka: thanks!
@Red: somewhere in the vicinity of four hundred this year.
@Red: at least in North America!

ReplyDeleteSpring looks mighty nice, too.
ReplyDeleteI just Googled Colonel By and learned he was responsible for the Rideau Canal and once I looked at it on the map, I could see why they put up a statue to him.
ReplyDeleteLoved the 3rd pic the best.
ReplyDeleteMore pretty beds. These seem more varied.
ReplyDeleteThe cream tulips are gorgeous William, elegant they are 💛
